Can I obtain a student visa that allows me to work?
Student visas allow you to work part-time (20 hours per week maximum) and are valid for the duration of your studies. Student visas are valid for any course accredited by the government to accept international students (CRICOS courses).
Before you can apply for your student visa you will need your confirmation of enrolment from an institution in Australia. There is also the requirement for a medical examination for periods of three months or longer.
How can I find a job if I am on a working holiday visa?
There is certainly a high number of working holiday visa makers who like to work during their stay, however AA is prepared to help to find a job in a short time frame.

I would like to work in Australia, what can I do?
First of all you need to consider what kind of visa you will have. Please fill out the enquiry form, join the club and AA will provide you with information on how to best proceed.
Students
I am an international student and want to work over the weekend. Is that allowed?
You need to apply for a student visa with work rights after you arrive in Australia and commence your course of study.
Generally, you (and your dependants) are limited to 20 hours work per week during the semester. You may work full-time during holiday periods. Dependents of Subclass 574 Masters and Doctorate students have unlimited work rights after the principal student visa holder has commenced his or her course in Australia.
Special Needs
I use a wheelchair. How difficult is it to find a job?
It is dependant on the facilities of the employer, but Australia is well equipped for people with special needs. Please contact AA to discuss your requirements.
